Tanya Renee Puckett, 54, of Nicholson, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 22, 2026. She was born on July 26, 1972, in Augusta, Georgia, to Mike Buck and Renee Hughes.
Above all else, she loved Jesus and chased after Him with all her heart. Though she faced many heavy challenges in this life, her faith remained her anchor, and she is now resting peacefully in His presence.
For 18 years, Tanya and Kevin Mazyck, shared a home filled with love, friendship, family, and countless memories with the children and grandchildren they loved so much.
Tanya's children and grandchildren were her world, and she loved creating special memories for them. She especially loved a good themed party and could pour herself into every detail, from the idea to the handmade decorations. She had a heart for people with disabilities, having spent many years working with and caring for them. And those who knew her well knew about her love for Judge Judy, which she happily shared with her grandchildren.
She is survived by Kevin; her devoted children: her son, Peter Mazyck; and her daughters, Lydia Puckett, Autumn Fowler, and Amber (Andy) Deutsch. She is also survived by Kevin's daughters, Kaybi (Jack) Mathieu and Lacey Mazyck.
She leaves behind her loving mother, Renee Hughes; her two sisters, Lindsey Sorrells and Erin Lazenby; and her seven nieces and nephews.
Her legacy of love lives on through her grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life: Alicia, Anthony, and Daylen Deutsch; Jesse and Bellamy Fowler; Peyton Rouse; Jose, Dallas, Bailey, and Lincoln Gonzalez; and Aria Mathieu.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenny Puckett.
A Celebration of Life for Tanya will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Living Waters Worship Center, 430 Bogart Jefferson Road, Statham, GA 30666. A potluck reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
