Suzanne Claire Florio (73) of Rex Ga, after a long illness, peacefully passed away on May 22, 2024.
Born in Hartford, CT and raised in West Hartford, CT after graduating from Conrad High School she attended Chestnut Hill College in Philidelphia where she graduated in 1972 and began teaching at Germantown High School there in Philadelphia. Over time this would prove to be her life's work. After leaving teaching and living in Tallahassee, FL, Sue moved to Fort Lauderdale and worked for Delta Airlines. While there she met her future husband, Tom. They moved to Atlanta in 1980 where they settled and raised a family. After both kids were in school Sue eventually decided to once again teach. This led to her love of Special Education. She went back to school (West Georgia) and obtained a Master of Education degree in Special Education. Sue went on to bless her “kids” for close to 25 years.
Sue is survived in life by her husband of 44 years Tom, son Thomas Michael and wife Meredith and their three sons Tommy, Will and Harrison, daughter Breana Pair and husband Randall, sister Patricia Dwyer and brother Robert Dwyer.
A Funeral Mass will be on 6/21 @ 1030 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Jonesboro, GA.
Flowers may be sent the day before. If you'd like to do a donation Sue would love for donations to be made to Autism Speaks.
