Obituary For Susan Kay Holifield

Susan (Sue) K. Holifield of Lula, GA. passed away in the early hours of June 11, 2024. Sue was born in Miami, Florida but moved to McClain, Mississippi at a very early age. She was known in the little town of Lucedale, Mississippi as a beloved business owner. After her retirement in 1998, Sue moved to Georgia to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Sue spent most of her free time giving back to her community. She was a huge advocate for the special needs community and other underserved communities. Sue’s love language was acts of service, always doing what she could to help any and everyone around her. Her greatest pleasure came from putting a smile on the faces of those around her, by whatever means necessary. She was not afraid to embarrass herself if that meant making someone else smile. Any time Sue was not volunteering within the community, she was with her family and friends or at church. Sue attended Bible Landmark of Cornelia, Georgia regularly and participated in ministry with Soldiers of Truth located in Gainesville, Georgia.

Sue is survived by her two children, Pamela (Kirk) Kenney and Jerry Miller Jr., her grandchildren, Robert (Brittany) Horne, Jacob (Ana) Horne, Matthew Horne, Nicholas Kenney, David Miller, Heather Miller, Terry Miller, Samantha (Jason) Nelson, and Corey (Rachelle) Miller, and her 9 beautiful great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held for Sue at the Soldiers of Truth Clubhouse located at 602 Oak Street, Gainesville, GA. 30501 on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 4:00 PM. All friends and family are welcome to attend. Food and drinks will be served, all we ask is that you bring your fondest memories of Sue to share.
