Samuel Wilde Taylor, Jr., 54, of Brazelton, GA, passed away peacefully in his home on November 19, 2023. On January 10, 1969, he was the first born to LTC Sam and Ann Taylor in Ayre, Massachusetts. Samuel was affectionately known as Sammy. He was an IT Systems Engineer by profession. In his field, he was highly regarded and as stated by his Logically team leader, “his immeasurable technical support and acumen will be sorely missed” by those who worked with him.
Samuel was a devoted son, brother, uncle, partner, and friend to many. He is survived by his parents, LTC Sam and Ann Taylor; his siblings, Kyle Taylor and Joy and Nelson Breeden; as well as his nieces and nephews Taylor, Gabi, Colton, Lily, Logan, and Erickson. He left behind Carri Haigh, whom he loved and adored, their pups Eddie Spaghetti and Sprocket, and Sauvi the cat. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Sammy graduated, class of 1987, from Henderson High School, in Atlanta, GA where he lived up to his middle name. As a young man, Sammy played soccer, sang with the Atlanta Boy Choir, and helped run Taylor Construction services with his father. Sammy was also very artistic and enjoyed painting. One of his paintings hangs at Shepherd Spinal Center where Sammy recovered from his spinal cord injury.
In his free time, Sammy enjoyed luxury cars, BIG dogs, and pursuing his hobbies of shooting, playing poker, and going fast. He found joy in the thrill of speed and embraced life to the fullest. Sammy also had a deep appreciation and respect for all who served in the armed forces.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Sammy's family and friends during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.

I worked closely with Sammy and Carri for 10 years and have many fond memories: troubleshooting technical issues at all hours of the day and night, Sammy bringing his big dogs to work, lunches, his infectious smile, Wednesday nights at the pub, his love of cars, guns, our veterans, our country, a good drink & conversation, and that perpetual toothpick! He was truly gifted and always willing to help. I learned a lot of my technical skills from Sammy and will be forever grateful. I extend my deepest sympathies to all of Sammy's family, friends & pets, as we celebrate his life. He is missed.
From the moment we met in 8th grade, Sammy and I formed a friendship that I will forever cherish. When telling stories of my younger years, it's hard not to mention a story that doesn't include Sammy. Many get a good laugh, some are simply unbelievable, while others offer a teaching moment of what not to do. But the overall theme in every story is how Sammy's generous friendship with me helped shape who I am today. While we lost touch over the years, I don't feel we ever that far away. When you can say you have a friend like Sammy, distance is not a factor. I am sad he is no longer with us, but I am comforted knowing we will meet again. And when we do, I look forward to taking the next ride.
I loved stealing moments of time with Sammy to talk cars and the newest tech. If I had a program idea he would have a solution within seconds. Amazing heart for animals and veterans. You will be missed, kind sir.
I had the honor of working with Sammy and Carri. They were more than co-workers they were like family. I am sending lots of love during this truly sad time. Sammy, you will be missed. Rest easy my dear friend.
Thinking of Carri and the family and the pups. Sammy was an amazing person & will truly be missed. Keir Noe, former coworker
Sammy was one of the smartest men I have worked with. His wisdom and work ethic made every project top-notch. We at Shumate will miss him. On a personal note, he cared dearly for his wife and mom- know that you are both in my thoughts and prayers during this season. May the Lord bless you and keep you both.
Sammy was a hero and mentor to me since I met him when I was 10 years old (that's 41 years now). To call Sammy anything other than Wild would be an understatement. Everything Sammy did was big. Even though we didn't talk as much as we got older I thought of him often. The world is a less exciting place with Sammy gone. All my love.
Sammy your witty banter and fantastic elfish grin will be missed. I love you cuz!
Sammy was a great co-worker and an ever greater person. I only worked with Sammy for about a year, but in the year his kindness and positivity profoundly touched me. He was not only a fantastic coworker but a truly exceptional person. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. Sammy's light and spirit will be greatly missed.
