Pamela Marie Williford Perlick (Pam) passed away on August 23, 2026, after many years of health challenges. Pam was born on December 31,1952, to Robert and Betty Williford in New Orleans, LA. The family relocated to Elberton, GA, in the summer of 1963, and Pam graduated from high school there in 1970. She attended Georgia College and Athens Technical College, earning an AA degree in administration. For several years, she worked with her father at The Elberton Star before moving to the Oakwood, GA area. There she held various administrative positions for the State of Georgia and local businesses. Pam had an entrepreneurial spirit, and she and her friend Jamie Brickey established a telephone answering service, as well as several other small businesses.
Pam married William O. Perlick (Willie) in September 1991, and they moved to Cleveland, GA. In her mid-50’s, she developed end-stage kidney disease and was unable to work. Pam’s strong will to live enabled her to endure dialysis treatment for over 15 years. After Willie’s unexpected death in January 2024, Pam moved to Lanier Gardens in Athens, GA. In November 2025 she moved to The Highlands in Jefferson, GA where she received loving care and lived until her death.
Pam was known for her strong Christian faith, her outgoing personality, her keen interest in everyone around her, her determination, and her love for her family and pets. She enjoyed watching sports and was a big fan of the UGA Bulldogs, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include her sister Nancy Stangle, nieces Elise and Anna Stangle, cousins Debby Thornton, Vicki Dixon, John Williford, Chrissie Thornton, Katie Isham, Emily Dixon, Maren Isham, and Micah Isham.
A celebration of Pam’s life will be held at a later time. In her memory, donations may be made to the Athens Tech Foundation Scholarship Fund (https://athenstech.edu/foundation/) or Athens Land Trust (Athens Land Trust).
