Rev. Michael (Mike) James Richardson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, sibling, uncle, cousin and pastor, 62, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024 in Gainesville, GA. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Mike was born on October 22, 1961 in Lagrange, Illinois to Ron and Sue Richardson. He grew up as a young child in Georgia and also in Florida, where he attended Dunedin High School and played on the basketball and baseball teams. Mike served in the Army as a young adult. He later made Georgia his home. He went on to attend Georgia State University earning a Bachelors of Business.
After graduating, Mike embarked on his professional journey leading him to Randall Brothers Builder’s Supplier. Mike also answered his call to ministry where he served multiple churches as senior pastor and he loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all he knew. Mike completed the Methodist Course of Study and was Ordained as Elder in the Global Methodist Church in 2024.
Beyond his professional life, Mike was known for his love of life, learning, humor, thoughtfulness, and commitment to his family and his faith. Mike loved being on the water of Lake Lanier, boating, camping, fishing, getting lost and finding new places with his wife, and supporting his children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors. His kindness, generosity, and love for all of those in his life will be remembered most fondly.
Rev. Michael Richardson is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Egan, sons Scott Richardson, Clint Morton, daughters, Brandi Morton, Kelsey Richardson, Lily O’Clery, grandchildren, Brysen, Abbigail, Connor, Aiden, and Jackson, siblings Nancy, Tom, and Kari, cousins and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Ron and Sue Richardson, brother Mark Richardson and son Nick Richardson.
