Louis Hafner, 76 passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024 at the Oaks of Braselton. Lou was born in Pittsburgh on November 6, 1947. He joined the service and moved to Washington D.C. where he met the love of his life, Judy Hafner. The happy couple got married on September 9, 1972. Shortly after, they moved to Georgia and had 2 daughters, Alissa and Ashley. Lou never met a stranger and could sell ice to an Eskimo. He had the gift of gab and was the best story teller you’ve ever met. He was known to embellish a detail or two which always made the story more entertaining! He had a thirst for knowledge and could talk to anyone about any topic. He had a love for sports, fireworks and his family. He spent a majority of his business career as a successful director of sales and marketing, then owned and operated a couple of small businesses. Lou liked to go big or go home! Bigger was always better whether it was fireworks display or a spread of food. Unfortunately, Lou’s health began declining in 2007. He was always a fighter. He fought a long battle and is one of the strongest (and stubborn) humans we know! He could still make us laugh, even in his final days.
Lou is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Judy Hafner; 2 daughters Alissa Marty (Matt) of Medina, OH and Ashley Hudgens (Sean) of Braselton, GA; 6 grandchildren, Mason, Megan, Avery, Kendall, Landry and Crawford; several brother and sister in-laws. Lou is preceded in death by his parents (Charles and Annie Hafner), brother (Charlie Hafner) and sister (Ilona Hafner).
A celebration of life for close family and friends will be held at a later date.
The staff of Central Cremation Services is honored to be selected to provide end-of-life services.
(If you order flowers, you must obtain a delivery address from a family member. Please do not send flowers to the crematory)
