Obituary For Larry Glen Crawford

Larry Glen Crawford
June 10, 1952 – November 13, 2025

Larry Crawford, 73, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital in Athens, Georgia. Born on June 10, 1952, at Scott AFB, Illinois, the son of Vernon and Minnie Crawford.

Larry grew up travelling in a military family and later in Riverside, CA. He carried with him the humor, curiosity, and resilience shaped during his early years. In his youth, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era, where he gave his country meaningful and honorable service. The experiences from that time remained with him throughout his life.

After returning home, Larry attended Azusa Pacific College and spent time in ministry in the Church of the Nazarene. His Christian faith was an anchor for him, especially in difficult seasons.

Larry had a deep appreciation for music and the arts. With an eclectic taste and a natural ear, he was a gifted vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who served faithfully in music ministry at his church. He raised his children with a love for music, creativity, and the importance of faith: values that continue to echo through the generations that follow him.

He is survived by his children, Tymerie Crawford, Tauni Jean-Georges (Windson), Ian Crawford (Amanda), and Leiya Smith (Paul); and by his brothers, Jim (Diana) and Dan (Pat) Crawford.

Larry’s life, like many, held challenges, yet his resilience, humor, and faith always shone through. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived but for the generations that follow him — a legacy of eleven grandchildren who carry his story into the future. Their lives will continue the chapters he began, building on the foundation he laid. As the Scripture says, “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you a hope and a future.”(Jeremiah 29:11)

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Please DO NOT send flowers to Central Cremation Services. Please donate, in honor of Larry Crawford, to the Inland Empire Wing Commemorative Air Force, where Larry was an active member for many years.
