Judy Turpin Alexander, 76, died Monday, March 25, at her home in Buford, Ga., surrounded by family following an extended illness. Ms. Alexander was born in Monroe, Ga., Nov. 25, 1947, and grew up in Franklin, N.C. She devoted her working career as an elementary school teacher where she inspired several to also become educators.
After graduating from Franklin (N.C.) High School, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in education from Western Carolina University, and later earned a master’s degree from Brenau University. She spent her career teaching in the Hall County, Ga., school system, the majority of which was at Wauka Mountain Elementary School.
Ms. Alexander loved her family, friends, and pets, as well as traveling to the beach. She especially enjoyed all the precious time she spent with her daughters and grandchildren.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Caroline & David Strickland, Gainesville, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law Tina Alexander & Michael Cook, Auburn, Ga.; grandchildren Micah & Miranda Strickland, Gainesville, Ga.; and sister and brother-in-law Ann & Tommy Smithwick, Douglasville, Ga.

Judy was one of the most kind and amazing neighbor. She was there for me in ways that will.stay with me forever. Her love for my son and his love of cats was pure Joy! I think of her so often and miss her dearly. Prayers for her family, they were so loved!
