Janet Johnson (82) of Lakeland, Florida, died at the home of her daughter in Braselton, Georgia, April, 9, 2024, of cancer.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, as the only child of Loring and Madge Allen. She was a mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
Janet was a member of Crestview Baptist Church and participated with Eastern Star chapters in both Ohio and Florida. She enjoyed to crochet and knit, most often gifting others with her projects. Watching the TB Rays, rooting for anyone playing the Bucs, and championing her beloved Gators brought her great entertainment. With an immense sense of humor, jokes and laughter were a part of her life to the very end. But it was her active involvement in her grandchildren’s lives that brought her the most joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her daughters, Beverly Luce (Jerry King) [Georgetown, OH]; Jan Parrilla (José) [Braselton, GA]; and son, Brian Kirkland [Plant City, FL]. Grandchildren, Brittany Kearns (Brian) [Williamsburg, OH]; Bobby Luce (Bri) [Batavia, OH]; Meahgan Cooley (Sean) [Duluth, GA]; Maria Dunning (Richard) [Canton, GA]; Gabriella Parrilla (Naidhruv Singh) [Willoughby, NSW, AU]; Alex Parrilla [Braselton, GA]. Along with four great-grandchildren, numerous other family members, and friends.
A memorial service led by Pastor Dave Renfroe, will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Crestview Baptist Church (615 Old Polk City Road, Lakeland, FL, 33809) A time of visitation will be held that morning beginning at 10:00 with the service following at 11:00.

Such a beautiful lady. I miss her. At the apartments she always use to bump into me or chase me on her scooter when we went in to eat breakfast or lunch. She would always say...SCOTTTT !!! IM SO GLAD I WAS HER FRIEND. SHE IN A BETTER PLACE NOW. FLY HIGH PRETTY LADY.
