Obituary For James Lawayne Shelton

James Shelton,51 of Comer, Ga passed away Thursday December 14, 2023.He was a lifelong resident of Madison County. James worked at Power Buildings and Northeast Georgia Gutters & Garage Doors of Athens, GA. He also flagged at the Curahee Go-Cart Track. He loved fishing, watching the Georgia Bulldogs, listening to gospel music, but most of all he loved going to the racetrack to watch his family members and all his favorite drivers race. Also, he loved spending time with family and friends, and spending time with his kids, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids. James was known as Pnnut to many of his family and friends.

James is survived by his daughter Rachel and Dillon Kinsey of Comer, Ga. Son Andy and Emily Kate of Lexington, Ga. James has survived 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Teresa and Steven Clark of Hull, Ga.Bobby and Mary Shelton of Jefferson, Ga.John and Deann Shelton of Danielsville, Ga.Hattie and Kelvin Tatum of Nicholson, Ga.Pete and Gail Whitley of Bogart, Ga. Tony Alford of Madison County, Ga. James had 7 grandchildren and 2 more grandkids on the way from his Son and Daughter and their spouse. James had many nieces and nephews along with having great nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother James and Renay Shelton of Hull, Georgia.
James loved his family. Family meant everything to him. He loved and cared for so many people. He had a kind and loveable heart. He loved talking about sports of any kind to his family and friends.

James Memorial Services will be held on Saturday January 13th,2024 @1pm at Ross Chapel Baptist Church,1180 Snows Mill Road Bogart, Ga 30622.

Family and friends will gather after the memorial at the church's fellowship hall.
