Gwendolyn Gay Kersh, 68, passed away on Monday, October 19th, 2026, at her home in Jefferson, Georgia.

Gay was born on August 23rd, 1958, in Amory, Mississippi to the late Ruble and Kay Whitlock. She graduated from Stone Mountain High School in Georgia in 1976. Later that year, Gay married the love of her life, David Kersh on August 28th, 1976. She was loving wife, mother and grandmother. Gay loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Not only her immediate family but her extended family from Mississippi as well. Family was a big part of her life. She was very proud of her three sons and all the grandkids they gave her.

Gay is survived by her three sons, Cory Kersh and wife Corinne, Katy Texas; Chris Kersh and wife Susan, Monroe Georgia; Chad Kersh and wife Ashley, Jefferson Georgia; sister Michelle Whitlock Crompton; brother Charlie Whitlock; granddaughters Sophia Kersh, Layla Kersh, Lily Kersh, Olivia Kersh, Hayley Kersh and Madilyn Kersh; grandson Brooks Kersh. Many nieces and nephews.

Gay is preceded in death by husband David Kersh; parents Ruble and Kay Whitlock; sister Sandra Whitlock Andrews; brother Ricky Whitlock.
