Gladys “Juanita” Bell entered eternal life on Monday April 6th, 2026. She was eighty-seven years old. She was born to the late John and Lillian Meeker on August 11th, 1938, in Stevenson, Alabama. She was the baby sister of Inez Evans and Marvin Meeker.
When she was just out of high school, she met a boy by the name of Brooks Bell, to whom she would devote the next 69 years, loving and caring for one another. She and Brooks would welcome one daughter, Tammy Fowler, to whom they vowed to give the best life.
Shortly after Tammy was born, they made the decision to leave their small town in Alabama and make their journey to Atlanta, Georgia where they would have pizza for the first time. This would become one of her favorite dishes to serve when having family gatherings.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy and Bruce Fowler; grandchildren, Karri and Scott Little, and Michelle and Paul Garrett; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Lisa Loving, Madison and Dylan Thompson, Wesley and Katie Little, Brooke and Orlando Resendiz, and Matthew Little; great-great Grandchildren Rolando Resendiz and Grant Little.
She is remembered by her family as a woman full of life, always ready to go yard selling or traveling. Her family and friends will remember her as a kind and welcoming woman, opening her home to all, a place you stepped back in time, seeing hallmark ornaments from years past, listening to records on the jukebox as you cut a rug, and lounging by the pool on a hot summer day. She will be remembered for the love she shared with everyone she met, always making sure no one ever left without a full belly.
