Gerald “Dana” Difatta, age 80, passed away on April 24, 2026, following a courageous battle with COPD.
Born in 1946 in Highland Park, Michigan, Dana later made his home in Monroe, Georgia. He was a high school graduate and proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force (USAF).
Dana had a deep love for animals, especially his cherished dogs, Chewy and Katie, whom he cared for devotedly. He spent much of his life working as a chef and salesman, and he was also known as a skilled card player. Dana had a warm personality and a great sense of humor, always enjoying laughter and good company with those around him.
He is survived by his brothers, Patrick Palmer (Patty) and Donald Palmer (Lynn), along with many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
Funeral arrangements are currently being made at the Veterans Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
