It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Giddens Jr, 68, of Lula. He passed away at home surrounded by family after a heroic battle with cancer.

He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam war and settled in Georgia after his military term. He enjoyed coaching baseball for all of his sons' teams; loved ships, lighthouses and anything nautical and mostly, he loved his family beyond measure. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Giddens.

George was awesome & going to be dearly missed by me and Timm. Im going to miss our political conversations the most, especially his seriousness of conspiracy theories. He always listened to my point of view & never belittled my opinion when it was different from his. I will think of him every time I make ribs (that man loved some ribs) Timm and I were blessed for knowing George and so grateful for our friendship ❤️
