In Loving Memory of a Vietnam Veteran

It is with deep respect and sorrow that we announce the passing of Frederick Folster, a proud Vietnam War veteran, who departed this life on July 28, 2025 at the age of 73. A dedicated soldier, loving family member, and steadfast friend, Frederick Folster will be remembered for his courage, resilience, strength, and sacrifice.

Born on November 26, 1951 Frederick answered the call to serve his country and was deployed to Vietnam as a member of the United States Navy. Navy Hospital Corpsmen work in Naval Hospitals or onboard ships, they're also part of the ground fighting units within the Marine Corps and the Navy and Marine Corps Special Operations and Special Warfare Communities. They take their skills to the combat zone and work side by side with their Navy and Marine Corps fighters. The Corpsman devotion to their fellow Sailors and Marines is second to none, often risking their own lives to save another fellow military member or civilian. During his time overseas, he faced the harsh realities of war with bravery and honor, forming bonds of brotherhood that lasted a lifetime.

After returning home, Frederick worked at General Electric in Schenectady, NY. His stories carried the weight of sacrifice and the depth of a man who had truly seen the cost of freedom.

Frederick had a love of Friends and Family, Writing, Woodworking, Chemistry, Music, Motorcycles, Nature, Golf, and Chess. He approached life with deep contemplation, always seeking to understand the underlying truths of existence. Frederick would never pass up a good debate, was romantic at heart, and loved looking at the stars. Frederick also loved his numerous Dogs throughout the years.

Frederick is survived by his children; Heather (Steve) Lacey, Arin Folster, Maxwell Folster, and grandchildren; Nathan (Anna) Folster, and Hailey Lacey. Also his siblings; Sandra Hoy, Cathy (Larry) Kerr, Belinda (Mark) Young, Samuel (Robyn) Folster, who will forever cherish his wisdom, sarcasm, and many memories they hold together. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert (Phyllis) Folster, his brother Gary Folster, and his daughter Shannon Folster.

Frederick served his country with unwavering dedication and lived his life with integrity. Though he has passed from this world, his legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
