My Sweet ❤️, my best friend, I miss him deeply. I know he is in our hearts and always will be. Hold tight to the precious memories, showing his love by teasing and picking with our kids and grandkids that would make him laugh so much. Everyone got picked on equally, even me, his Babydoll. That was how he did it, "Showing the Love". I love y'all. I am here for each of you when you need me. Mama/MawMaw (Betty Stevens)
I called him "Pee-Paw", he called me "Little girl". I knew him before I knew his beautiful son, He got to witness my terrible teen years and still somehow seemed to be excited for our marriage. He always, without fail brought me 3 Krispy Kreme, chocolate covered doughnuts weekly throughout my pregnancies. He already loved his grandbabies. He would always go hunting with us & he never failed at leaving his cigarette butts at his stand. That was "Pops stand". Our whole family could always count on our lovely singing Happy Birthday message yearly. My favorite part about him was he was never afraid to shed sweet tears and tell us all how much we meant to him and how much he loved us. He always jokingly asked "what'd you buy me for Christmas??" And we all knew us being there in his presence was his greatest & most favorite gift. Before he married his lovely wife, I always did the things he needed me to do to help take care of him, whether it be weekly haircuts, laundry, all the way to his favorite home cooked meals. We were there with an open door when he needed it and he was there with an open door when our family needed it. And for that, and every little & big beautiful memory, I will always be grateful. And know that I will continue to spoil & always take care of your baby boy. I love you Pee-Paw, forever your Little girl. (Anj)
