Obituary For Belinda Dee Gibbons

On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 15, 2023, Belinda Dee Gibbons of Gainesville, GA, passed away at the age of 58, surrounded by her family.

Belinda was born March 17,1965, in San Francisco, California, to Rosalind WonPat and Verne Wise. She moved quite a lot in her early life but settled down in Pensacola, Florida, where she met Paul Gibbons. On May 19,1982, they would wed and spent the rest of their lives together, until his passing in December 2022. Shortly after marriage, they relocated to Gainesville, GA, and together raised three children, Dustin, Carah, and Nicholas. She worked as a laboratory technician until the time of her death. Belinda was recently recognized in 2022 for 35 years of service with the Northeast Georgia Physicians Group.

Belinda was fond of scrapbooking and mystery novels, which she would rent from the library and listen to during long car rides. She loved to travel and in the last decade traveled to Italy, Guam, Hawaii, New York City and Naples, Florida, She was an active member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, where she participated as an Extraordinary Minister and would volunteer in the gift shop after Saturday Masses.

Belinda is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Paul; her father, Verne Wise, and her stepfather, William D. Fleet. She is survived by her three children Dustin (Casey), Carah, and Nicholas; her grandson, Clark; mother, Rosalind; sister, Natalie, and brothers, William and Michael.

A funeral mass will be held at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Gainesville, GA, on September 22, 2023 at 11:00am. A reception will follow and will be open to family and friends. Following the mass, Belinda’s cremated remains will be interred next to her husband Paul at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA. This service will only be open to immediate family.
