Carter Funeral Home respectfully announces the transition of Mr. Zander Goshay, 93 of the Hardaway Church Community. Mr. Goshay, a farmer and U.S. Army veteran was born February 12,1923. He passed away peacefully Thursday, October 13,2016 at his residence.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, October 21,2016 from 2 until 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.
Mr. Goshay will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, October 22,2016 from the sanctuary of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of the Guerryton Community.
Words of comfort will be delivered by the pastor, Rev. Chris D. Nunn.
Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Zander Goshay Sr., was born on February 12, 1923 to the late Nick and Essie Randolph Goshay. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Calvary Baptist Church family in the Guerryton Community. He joined in holy matrimony with Ethel Goshay (deceased) on October 27, 1946 From this union were born 11 children- three Tedro (Dorothy) Goshay; Sam ( Janice) Goshay and Procetice Dixson preceded him in death.
God called him to rest on October 13, 2016. He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters: Naomi Goshay Johnson and Carolyn Goshay of Union Springs, Al and Louise Childs of Chicago, IL. Three sons: Zander ( Lottie) Goshay Jr. of Columbus, OH; Alfornzia Goshay of Union Springs, AL and Avon (Mildred) Goshay of Union Springs, AL. One daughter Clara Bell Johnson (deceased). Two adopted sons: Robert Washington of Union Springs, AL and Albert Foxx of Columbus, OH.
Thirty-six grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren one brother-in-law Leroy Jackson (deceased); one special niece Ruby Nell Robinson a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Two special friends Dec. Bennie Turpin and Robert Swanson. Special caretakers; First Choice Hospice Nurses: Kristy, Whitney, Rhonda, and Jennifer and Tri-Med nurse Monique.
