Obituary For Willie "Shawty" Roe
A life well lived.......Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mr. Willie "Shawty" Roe, 72, of Union Springs, Alabama on December 11, 2018.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 12 noon from the sanctuary of the Brown Grove Christian Church.
The pastor, Rev. George Bowens will deliver the message of comfort and strength.
Interment will follow in Moultrie Cemetery.
Public visitation will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
Mr. Willie Roe was born December 4, 1946 to the late Willie Roe, Sr. and Sallie Collins Roe.
He confessed to Christ at an early age, and joined Brown Grove United Methodist Church, where he served until his death. Willie departed with the Angels on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Roe, Sr.; mother, Sallie Roe; four brothers: Johnnie Roe, Eddie Roe, James Harris and Isiah Ross; one son, Perry Simmons; and his mother-in-law, Johnnie Mae Simmons.
He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of forty-one years, Marion Roe; three children: Cynthia (Anthony)Hampton, Union Springs, AL., Willie Roe, Jr. , Atlanta, GA., and Tony (Tonya) Roe, Fort Valley, GA; five sisters: Martha (Roland) Phillips, Oak Park, MI., Catherine (Clifford) Murray, Alabaster, AL., Estella Ross, Union
Springs, AL., Pattie (Michael) Young, and Patricia (Bobby) Lockley, Pike Road, AL; brother-in-law, James Simmons; six grandchildren: Tony Roe, Jr., De’Anthony Hampton, Jaderios Roe, Anthony Roe, Tia Hampton, Perry Hampton; one special friend, Larry Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other devoted relatives and friends.
