Carter Funeral Home is humbled to announce the transition of Mrs Willie Mae Witherspoon, 63, of Fitzpatrick, Alabama.
Born, June 4,1954, Mrs. Witherspoon transitioned Saturday, October 7, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the sanctuary of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Fitzpatrick, Rev. Jerome Anthony, pastor.
The Rev. Eddie C. Jasper Pastor of the Haynes Chapel Baptist Church will share words of comfort.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Cemetery.
Mrs. Witherspoon will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, October 13,2017 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
Willie Mae Pritchett Witherspoon was born on June 4, 1954 to the late Sammie Mae Pritchett and Willie Maybell. She was the fourth child of eleven siblings. Willie Mae accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Simville Community, Union Springs, Alabama. She was a hard worker, and she enjoyed caring for her family. She married Willie Frank Witherspoon and they remain united for almost 40 years. She was kind and whenever she was needed, she would be there to give her support. Willie Mae was active, she loved working in her yard. A few years ago, she became sick and she battled with her sickness until the Lord called her home on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at St. Vincent Medical Center, Jacksonville, Fl. Willie Mae was preceded in death by two brothers: Johnny and Samuel Pritchett, and two sisters: Mary Cole and Nellie Burks. Her memories will be cherished by her loving husband, Willie Frank Witherspoon; step-mother: Miss Willie Mae Maybell of Union Springs, AL.; three sons: Derrick (Angel) Mathis of Calera, AL., Eric (Shaneice) Witherspoon of Jacksonville, FL., Franklin (Shun) Spencer of Calera, AL.; one daughter: Catherine Spencer of Birmingham, AL.; two sisters: Marie Pritchett of Union Springs, AL. and Johnetta Anderson of Spring, TX.; five brothers: Frank (Bettye) Pritchett, Danny Pritchett, James Pritchett of Union Springs, AL., Walter Pritchett and Roderick Pritchett of Lyons, N.Y.; one aunt: Mattie Ceil Lee of Alabaster, AL.; eight sisters-in-law: Luessie Forester, Josephine Johnson, Perticiah Harris, Lena Cave, Callie Williams, Debra Witherspoon of Union Springs, AL., Minister Arona Pritchett of Midway, AL., Mattie Pritchett of Fitzpatrick, AL.; five brothers-in- law: James Earl Witherspoon, Jessie Earl Witherspoon, Ernest (Debra) Witherspoon, Joseph Witherspoon of Fitzpatrick, AL., and Arthur Burks of Union Springs, AL.; nine grandchildren; one greatgrandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
