Carter Funeral Home announces the peaceful transition of Ms. Sharon Long, (62) of Union Springs, AL.
Ms. Long transitioned into eternity Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Southern Springs Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
The Farewell Life Celebration will be held Monday, November 7, 2022, at 11:00 am in the sanctuary of the Mt. Silla Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Fred Douglas, Sr. will deliver the message of comfort and strength.
In accordance with recommended COVID-19 Protocols, all attendees are requested to utilize appropriate facial coverings, maintain social distancing, and minimize physical contact.
Sharon D. Long Williams, was born on August 12, 1960 in Union Springs, AL to the late Don Jackson and the late Savannah Long.
Sharon, graduated from the Bullock County School System, Sharon was a loving mother, known for her kindness, warm spirit and giving heart.
Sharon transitioned into eternity, October 29, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter Mickell D. Williams, two sisters, Viola Coleman and Ernestine Shakoor, and two brothers, Jimmy Jackson and Don Jackson Jr.
Sharon leaves a lifetime of wonderful memories to be cherished by her children: Shannon D. Long, Maurice Williams, Shanice M. (Perry) Henry, and Deiontae C. Williams, all of Union Springs, AL; eight grandchildren, three of which she reared: Jamekeion L. Williams, Jaleria I. Rump, Janaria L. Rump all of Union Springs, AL, Shannique D. Long, Atlanta, GA, Nyasia Long, Union Springs, AL, Kaley R. Townsend, De' Aja A. Henry, and Brody A. Henry, Union Springs, AL; two great grands: Martez Lampley, Jr. Union Springs, AL, and Makinsley H. Riggins, Atlanta, GA; three brothers: Elder Moses (Juanita) Long Jr., Raymond Long, both of Palatka, FL, and Elmore Jackson, Tampa, FL; ten sisters: Gloria (Leroy) Straw, Clayton, AL, Lucille (Roy Chester) Lee, Midway, AL, Phyllis Hires, Palatka, FL, Annie M. Scott, & Doris Jackson, Tampa, FL, ldean Jones, Rasheed (David) Muhammad, Katie Williams, all of Union Springs, AL, and Pearlie (Roger) Young, Atlanta, GA, Mattie Wilkerson, Philadelphia, PA; a dear friend, Elva Moore
