Russell Fowler, Sr. was born November 9, 1958 to the late Mr. Johnny L. Fowler and Mrs. Arlena Fowler. He was the fifth born of six children in Midway, Alabama. Russell accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He attended A.S.D. in Talladega, Alabama (Alabama Institute for the Deaf) from September 1965 to May 1980. He graduated with honors. While attending A.S.D., Russell met his High School sweetheart, Patrice Burkett, whom he took by the hand and dated for two in a half years before they decided it was time to be joined together in Holy Matrimony. The two got married on December 7, 1985 and remained together until the Lord called him home on May 25, 2016 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. Russell was a loving, caring and devoted husband and an awesome father to their one and only child, Russell, Jr. His smile will forever be missed. Russell was also preceded in death by his brother, Melvin H. Fowler and a precious niece, Lytonia C. “Tee” Fowler. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: a devoted, caring and loving wife of thirty years, Mrs. Patrice B. Fowler; one son who worshipped the grounds his daddy walked on, Russell Fowler, Jr.; a very dear, loving and caring mother, Mrs. Arlena S.
