Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mr. Robert Westley King, Sr. of Union Springs, Alabama.
Mr. King, 44, transitioned into eternity November 10, 2021, in Montgomery, Alabama.
The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Friday, November 19, 2021, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
The Farewell Celebration at Graveside will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 2:00 pm from the Union Springs Perpetual Care Cemetery.
All visitations and services will be conducted exercising prescribed social distancing protocols and all attendees are encouraged to utilize appropriate facial coverings.
RRobert Westley King Sr. was born on August 26, 1977 to Mary Patrick and Westbrook Lewis in Selma, AL. He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He departed this life on November 10, 2021, in Montgomery, AL.
Robert was united in Holy Matrimony on July 04, 2020 to ShaNeka Holliday-King.
Robert loved to spend time with his family. He had an incredible sense of humor, and possessed wisdom far beyond his years. He enjoyed movie nights with his loved ones, fishing, board games, making others laugh, at his well-timed jokes, and overloading the grills with too many coals during family barbeques. His children were his pride and joy.
His passion also included watching his beloved Crimson Tide dominate the college football landscape, watching Star Wars films, basketball, friendly debates, and indulging in a good card game with family and friends. He was a fierce protector of those he loved.
In 1998, Robert graduated from Bullock County High School. Soon thereafter, he served the country as a National Guardsman and later a Navy man. He also worked as an assembly worker for several manufacturers.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ta'Nyah Shanese King. He was also preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; along with several aunts and uncles. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, ShaNeka Holliday-King. Six children: Robert King Jr, Omarion King, Destini King, Michael Calhoun Jr., Jaheim King, and Khalil King. His loving parents- Mary (Everson) Patrick, and Westbrook Lewis; devoted mother-in-law, Samarow Bowens, father-in-law, James (Angela) Calloway. He also leaves to cherish his memories, his loving siblings: Jerrode (Shanae) King, La'Chelte Patrick, Lakeshia (Christopher) King-Walker, Kimberly Lewis and John King. Special nieces and nephew: Kaitlyn King-Walker, Jordan King, Kylie Walker. Special Aunts and Uncles: Rosie K. Montgomery, Lillie K. Martin, Jacqueline K. Briggins, Gilley M. Milhouse, Richard Milhouse, Willie King, Gallie Brocton. Tommie Lewis. Amathulla Shakoor, carolyn Wilson, Margaret Patrick, Essie Gardner, Pinkie Pritchett, Barbara Peary and Edward Lewis. He's also survived by two grandmother-in-laws, Elva Mae Calloway and Arthur Mae Anglin. Grandfather in law, Tommie E. Holliday Sr. Brother-in-law Quaisy (Nakeeta) Holliday. Sister-in-law Shalaycia Faniel and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends
