Carter Funeral Home announces the peaceful transition of Ms. RaShonda Rene Smith, 30, of Union Springs, Alabama.
Ms. Smith, 30, transitioned into eternal life December 15, 2021, while in the comforting care of her healthcare professionals at the University of Alabama Medical Center, Birmingham, AL.
The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
The Farewell Service will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 11:00 am from the Mt. Mariah Missionary Baptist Church, located at 176 Fitzpatrick Road Fitzpatrick AL 36029.
Pastor Terrance Abner will deliver the message of comfort and acceptance.
Interment will follow all services in the Kindred – Baldwin Cemetery of the Omega Community.
In accordance with recommended COVID-19 Protocols, all attendees are requested to utilize appropriate facial coverings, maintain social distancing, and minimize physical contact.
RaShonda René Smith was born on June 25, 1991, in Union Springs, AL to Gloria and Randolph Smith.
At an early age, she confessed Christ as her Savior and joined Mt. Mariah Baptist Church in Fitzpatrick, AL.
RaShonda was educated in the Bullock County School System. She spent some time focusing on her studies at Troy University in Troy, AL and Southern Union State Community College in Opelika, AL. RaShonda loved to dress in high fashion and perform exquisite hairstyles, learning from Jackquan Safford. In recent years, she planned and decorated various events for family members and close friends. RaShonda was surrounded by love; she was loved sooo much by so many.
She was preceded in death by one aunt-in-law, Vanessa Smith.
RaShonda leaves to cherish her memories: two loving and devoted parents, Gloria and Randolph Smith, Union Springs, AL; grandmother, Effie Smith, Union Springs, AL; three sisters, Canitra Baskin, Tiffenie Johnson, both of Montgomery, AL, and Shontrill (Derek) Lowe, Huntsville, AL; one brother, Verrocchio Rivers, Union Springs, AL; three nieces, Bria Harris, Union Springs, AL, Kendall Baskin, Huntsville, AL, and Ja’Mya Johnson, Montgomery, AL; four nephews, LaDarius Baskin, Huntsville, AL, Christopher Wright, Jr., De’Vantae Johnson, both of Montgomery, AL, and Derek Lowe, Jr., Huntsville, AL; two aunts, Elnora Baskin, Orlando, FL and Shirley Christian, Detroit, MI; four uncles, Johnnie Smith, Morris (Cathy) Smith, Larry (Freddie) Smith, all of Union Springs, AL, and Ray Smith, Savannah, GA; a host of loving cousins, the bestest of best friends, Jimese Still; along with special and dear friends (The Girls) and others.
