With humble respect,Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mrs.Minnie Lee Pebbles Rogers,74, of Midway,Alabama on May 21,2017.
Born February 13,1943, Mrs. Rogers was the wife of Deacon Richard Rogers.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, May 27,2017 at 11:00 am from the sanctuary of the Fellowship Baptist Church in the Pine Grove Community, 35 Fairview Road Midway,Alabama 36053 Words of comfort will be rendered by the pastor,Rev.Willie J. Glover
Interment will follow in the Fellowship Baptist Cemetery. Mrs Rogers will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday,May 26,2017 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home
Minnie Lee Peebles Rogers was born February 13, 1943 to the late Ben and Rosie Peebles.
She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined the Elizabeth Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. G.W. Smiley but later moved her membership to Fellowship Baptist Church.
On March 9, 1974, she united in holy matrimony with Richard Rogers.
She was employed with the State of Alabama for 40 years. On May 21, 2017, Minnie entered into rest while residing at Southern Springs Nursing Home in Union Springs, Alabama. She was preceded in death by one son, Willie Joe Peebles.
She leaves her precious memories to her devoted husband Richard Rogers, one daughter, LaTresha (Bennie) Mims of Midway, AL, two sons, Roderick (Nikki) Rogers, Warner Robins, GA and Rodney (Shirley) Hicks, Montgomery, AL. Two sisters: Mary Rodgers of Midway, AL and Edna (Charles) Thomas, Akron, OH, two brothers: John (Gloria) Thornton and Frank L. Thornton, Louisville, KY. One daughter-in-law, Janice Reynolds Peebles, Whitwell,TN; Brothers-in-law, Charles (Gwen) Rogers of Midway, AL, George Delbridge of Union Springs, AL, John T. (Ora Lee) Dent, San Diego, CA, and McArthur (Ernestine) Rogers, Adyen, NC. Sisters-in-law: Angie F. Rogers, Columbus, GA, Shirley Harris Rogers, Miami, FL and Cassandra Streeter, Cuthbert, GA She had ten (10) grandchildren and three (3) great grandchildren. Special thanks to Gwen Rogers, Ingela Cope, St. Francis Hospital, Midtown Medical Center, John B. Amos Cancer Center, River Towne Nursing Home, Dr. Wilbert Rumph and Southern Springs Nursing Home. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a countless number of friends.
