Obituary For Maxine Person Tellis
Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mrs. Maxine Person Tellis, 74, of Midway, Alabama.
Mrs. Tellis of the Mt. Andrew Community passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the Southern Springs Healthcare Facility.
Celebration of Life Services and Interment will be held Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 11:00 am from the New Bethel Baptist Cemetery of the Mt Andrew Community, Midway, AL.
The message of triumph will be delivered by Pastor E. L. Heath.
Public visitation will be held Friday, May 22, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
All visitations and services will be held following prescribed social distancing protocols.
Maxine Person Tellis was born April 4, 1946 to the Late Charles Stevenson Jr and Mary Emma Person.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence E Tellis, one son Russell L Johnson and six sisters Ruby Rogers, Emma Woods, Deloris Person, Laura Teal, Jonetta Morgan, Donzella Jones, and three brothers Oscar Stevenson, Morris Stevenson and Robert E. Thomas.
She was a faithful member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she served faithfully as the secretary and as a Choir Member. She was a dedicated member of her community and would do any and everything for anyone she met. Maxine never hesitated to do anything for anyone.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Charlette (James) Herron, two sons William C Johnson and Jeffrey Person, three grandchildren Toriano Herron, Nitikka (Melvin) Milton and Ruvondre Thornton, five great grand daughters Alaze Edwards, Ania Herron, Ki’Ana Milton, Ay’Ana Milton and Azyia Herron and one great grandson Jamari Milton. Ten sisters Pearlie Dozier, Willie M. France, Bessie Patterson, Shirley (Preston) Patterson, Alma Austin, Beatrice Stevenson, Mary Thomas, Debra Stevenson, Ruth (terry) Newby, and Mildred Gamble, Five Brothers Alexander Person Sr, Clifford (Karin) Fenn, Haywood (Janice) Thomas, Robert C. Stevenson, and John (Michelle) Thomas, one Aunt Lessie Person Eford and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
