Carter Funeral Home announces respectfully the transition of Mrs. Mae Belle Jones Gamble,93, of Union Springs,Alabama. Known and loved as "Ms.Mae Belle", Mrs. Gamble born September 15,1923 was a lifelong resident of Bullock County. A faithful usher of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in the Indian Creek Community, Mrs. Gamble transitioned into eternity, March 13,2017.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, March 18,2017 at 2:00 pm from the sanctuary of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Words of comfort will be rendered by the pastor,Rev. H J Fowler.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Gamble will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, March 17,2017 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter. Funeral Home.
Mae Belle Jones “Gamble” was born September 15, 1923 to John and Isabella Jones. She departed this life on March 13, 2017 at Southern Springs Nursing Home in Union Springs, AL. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Banks, AL, where she served faithfully as an Usher until her health began to fail.
Five children preceded her in death: Jesse, Thelma, Jasper, Charles and Willie Edd Jones. She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Mary L. Davis, Union Springs, AL, Eva Lou (Willie) Bristow, Troy, AL and Rebecca (Guerry) Bonner, Bay Minette, AL; two sons, Robert (Shelia) Jones, Amsterdam, NY and Lee Otis Jones, Union Springs, AL; one daughter-in-law, Victoria Jones, Banks, AL; sixty grandchildren, seventy-two great-grandchildren, twenty-nine great-great grandchildren; sister, Annie B. Earle, Midway, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
