Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mrs Lonnie Ruth King Jolly,68, of Brooklyn,New York.
Born November 18, 1948, in Union Springs,Alabama, Mrs Jolly exchanged life for eternity,June 13,2017.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Thursday,June 22,2017 at 11:00 am from the sanctuary of the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church,Aberfoil Community, Union Springs,Alabama.
Eulogistic expression will be rendered by Rev.Hawthorne Reed,Pastor.
Interment will follow in the Elizabeth Baptist Cemetery.
Mrs Jolly will lie in repose one hour prior to,Celebration of Life Services.
Lonnie Ruth King Jolly was born to the late Odis Lee and T. Posey King on November 18, 1948. She was one of 20 children. Lonnie went to school and graduated in Union Springs Alabama. After finishing school, she packed her bags and headed to New York City where she met and married Gilbert C Jolly. To this union, three children were born. Lonnie was always a hard-working woman who worked very hard to provide for her family.
Lonnie worked for Booth Memorial Medical Center for 27 1/2 years. She then went on to work for Interfaith Medical Center; Downstate Medical Center and retired from Brookdale Hospital in 2015. Lonnie started off as a Dietitian. She later went back to school to become a Dietary Supervisor.
Lonnie was well known for her jokes, laughter and her kindness. She would welcome people with open arms and was always there when you needed and wanted her. Lonnie Ruth Jolly was a phenomenal woman and will be truly missed by everyone especially her family. She was definitely the backbone of her family.
On June 13, 2017 Lonnie was called home and was greeted by her parents and nine siblings. Lonnie leaves behind three children: Anthony, Angela and Gilbert Jr.; seven grandchildren: Antoine, Antoinette, Annette, Siara, Monae, Anthony Jr. and Aquan; three great grandchildren; Derrick Jr., Ayanna and Anieya; three brothers: Larry, Ted and Arthur J.; six sisters: Pecolia Marie, Bobby, Nora, Pearl, Caroline; son-in-law, Michael and a host of family and friends.
