Born September 18,1918 in Bullock County,,Alabama, Mrs. Brown transitioned into eternity Monday,February 20,2017.
Celebration of Life Services will,be held Friday,February 24,2017 at 1:00 pm from the sanctuary of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Hurtsboro,Alabama.Rev. Chris D. Nunn pastor will deliver words of comfort.
Interment will follow in the Calvary Baptist Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.
Lizzie Goshay Brown was born September 18, 1918 in Macon County, Alabama to the late Nick and Essie Goshay.
She confessed Christ as her personal savior at an early age and joined the Calvary Baptist church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Brown of 60 years; her only brother, Zander Goshay; (3) sisters and (1) daughter, Hannah Jones:
She leaves to cherish her memories (5) sons: Oscar (Barbara) Brown, Jr. Chicago, IL; Henry (Gilda) Brown, Tommie (Chris) Brown, Starling (Mary) Brown, all of Hurtsboro, AL and Roosevelt (Shirley) Brown, of Union Springs AL; (7) daughters: Lissie Dawkins, Essie Brown, Angelina Brown, Mildred Brown all of Hurtsboro, AL; Rosa Stinson of Opelika, AL; Lillie (Roosevelt) Tatum of Columbus, GA and Montheletha B. Mitchell of Auburn, AL. (1) sister-inlaw Johnnie M. Bailey; 41 grandchildren; 65 great grand, 22 great-great grand; a loving and dedicated friend, Eddie Owens and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends
