Kareem Hooks A.K.A. “Boo Boo, Man and lastly Fat Head” was born on September 12, 1981. He was born to the late John L. Hooks and Charlena Hooks. Kareem was always a jolly baby with a big smile, big heart, great spirit, and full of love! Kareem was the kind of person that love to tell jokes and laugh at them also. In our time with Kareem he knew how to make a frown turn upside down. If you were having a bad day, he could make you feel better with his jokes. He was an encourager to all those he would meet. One of his favorite sayings was “You sho right ni,” which made you feel good even if he may have thought you were wrong! When you would asked him what he was grateful for his answer was always food, family, and fun. Kareem always loved his family, friends, and supported whenever they needed him. He was close to his son who stated and knew his dad was his best friend. He loved his daughter and anticipation with excitement his soon to be born granddaughter. Kareem was very active and loved to be on the go as well as loving his team jerseys, hats, and basketball teams. He had mastered playing dominos, he loved playing pool, and he was a “diceman.” If you wanted to get a game going call Kareem- if you wanted to laugh call Kareem-if you needed a listening ear call Kareem. Kareem loved his career as a truck driver. Our son, brother, father, nephew, cousin, and friend has ascended to a higher spiritual plain. Kareem has transitioned into a time of physical rest until we meet again.
Cherished memories of Kareem will remain with his loving wife, Miaya and their children, Darcajia Hooks and Kareem Andra Hooks, Jr all of Union Springs, AL; his mother, Charlena Hooks, Union Springs, AL; his siblings, Shenequal Monday, Michelle Rivers, Decarless (Sheena) Hooks, Johnny (Eunice) Hooks, Jacquelyn (Raymond) Rodgers, Anthony (Sabrina) Hooks, Gwendolyn (James) Davis, Catrina (Dorien) Robbins and Marquise Bournes Hooks along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends that will miss him dearly, Walter Scott, Michael Caldwell, Wilbert Jernigan, Jr and Jeremiah Raybon
