Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mr. Joe Lee Harris of Union Springs, Alabama
Mr. Harris, 68, peacefully exchanged life for eternity on February 28, 2021 at the Southern Springs Healthcare and Rehabilitation Facility in Union Springs, Alabama.
Celebration of Life Services and Interment will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Mason Cemetery. The eulogy will be delivered by Pastor Gary Lewis of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Union Springs, AL
Public visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 5;00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
All visitations and services will be conducted exercising the prescribed social distancing protocols including the use of appropriate facial coverings.
Joe Lee was born on October 15, 1952 to the late Henry Louis Harris and Ruby Lee Delbridge Harris.
Educated in the Public School System, Joe Lee was known for his kind spirit, hard work and his support of his family and friends.
Joe Lee kept all his friends supplied with pecans.
He confessed a belief in Christ during his early years. Joe was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Darnell Harris; sisters, Patricia Ann Harris and Brenda Harris; grandmother, Georgiana Harris; grandfather, Robert Harris; aunts, Claudie Mae Early and Mamie B. Smith; uncles, John F. (Pearline) Harris and Robert J. Harris.
Left to cherish his memories are : a loving wife, Janace Harris; two devoted daughters, Erma and Latricia Harris all of Union Springs, AL; six grandchildren one great grandchild, two sisters, Lillie I. Harris-Childress, Lorain, OH,, and Brendora Smith, St. Paul, MN; three brothers, Henry Harris, Anwtain Harris, and Robert Harris, all of Union Springs, AL; three aunts, Lillie L. Keaton, Inell (John) Davis, Columbus, GA, Clara Barnes, Richmond, VA, Bettie Woolford, and Elizabeth Scott, both of Rochester, NY; two uncles, Clarence Harris, Seale, AL and Andrew (Grace) Harris, Rochester, NY; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends including his special friends, James Callaway, Jerry Surles, Timothy Davis and Christopher Tarver
