Heaven has called yet another soldier home - He called our beloved Jobie“Hobo” Adams.
God and His divined wisdom called Jobie from his earthly home on Monday, January 19, 2016. Our precious husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend was called home. A celebration of life service was held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Words of comfort were delivered by Rev. Eddie C. Jasper, Pastor. Interment with military honors followed in the Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, AL.
Jobie was born January 13, 1962 in Union Springs, AL to the late Lula Mae Adams and Alfred Adams. Jobie gave his life to Christ at Haynes Chapel Baptist Church. Throughout his Christian journey, he attended church in Union Springs, AL.
Jobie graduated from Haines City High School in the class of 1981. After high school, he served nine and a half years in the United States Army. He was employed by Boral Bricks in Phenix City, AL. Jobie was very special and had a joyous spirit. Those who knew him will remember him for his infectious smile and loving spirit. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Susie Adams and brother, Alfred Adams, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Regina Adams; one loving daughter, Daveisha (James) Adams-Rumph; one loving son, Carson Adams; one loving granddaughter, Sanaa Waller; five brothers, Kareem Adam Abdullah, Union Springs, AL, Curtis Smith Adams, New York, Rodney Henderson, Curtis Johnson, both of Haines City, FL and John (Tameka) Baxter, Davenport, FL; five sisters, Linda (Thomas) Jenkins, Union Springs, AL, Dorothy Adams, Mary (Moses) Alexander, Levon (L.C.) Haynes, all of Haines City, FL and Patricia (Ronald) Bean, Dundee, FL; three uncles, Albert Johnson, Willie F. Johnson, all of Saginaw, MI and Bob (Annie) Johnson, Jr., Union Springs, AL; five aunts, Emma McFadden, Velma T. (Malcolm) Roach, all of Saginaw, MI, Annie L. Johnson, Brooklyn, NY, Linda M. Johnson, Montgomery, AL and Idella Johnson, Columbus, GA; a special mother-in-law, Dorothy Fason-Smedley, Dundee, FL; caring father-in-law, Samuel L. (Janice) Fason, Rochester, NY; three sisters-in-law, Tarneisha Smedley (Darrell Simmons, Jr.), Dundee, FL, Kristy Fason, Bartow, FL and Stacey (Anthony) Close, Rochester, NY; six brothers-in-law, Eugene (Alfreda) White, Sr., Lake Wales, FL, Gregory Rogers, Columbus, GA, Jerome Miller, Lorenzo (Ozella) Miller, all of Davenport, FL, Chadwick Williams, Orlando, FL and Samuel B. Fason, Jr., Bartow, FL; along with a host of sorrowing family members and friends who will truly miss him.
