Obituary For Jimmy Owens
Carter Funeral Home respectfully announces the transition of Mr. Jimmy Owens of Union Springs, AL.
Mr. Owens, age 86, peacefully transitioned into eternity October 21, 2023 at his residence.
The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
The Farewell Celebration will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11 am from the sanctuary of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of the Bruceville Community, Union Springs, AL. Rev. Roosevelt Grant, Pastor.
The message of comfort will be provided by Pastor Hawthorne Reed of the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery.
Respecting current COVID sensitive precautions, all attendees are requested to practice social distancing and implement the responsible use of facial coverings.
Mr. Jimmy Owens was born May 17, 1937 in Bullock County, Alabama to the late Mr. Grady Owens Sr, and Mrs. Augusta McCray Owens.
He was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Church in Union Springs, Alabama.
Self-employed for many years, he worked for the Bonnie Plant Farm.
Mr. Owens was also a loyal member of the Masonic Order,
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Katie Warmack Owens, and brother Grady Owens Jr.
Mr. Jimmy Owens leaves to cherish his memories, two beautiful daughters, Sherry and Gwendolyn Burke of Columbus, GA. One handsome grandson, Christopher Burke of Columbus, GA. An amazing sister, Rosetta Ivey
of Cleveland Ohio. Two special nieces, Dotha Nell Babers of Hayneville, AL and Louise Coretta Arbuckle (Lonnie Ray) of Kennesaw, GA. A great host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends also survive and cherish memories of Mr. Owens
