Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Deacon Jack P. Fields, Sr, of Union Springs, Alabama.
Mr. Fields, known for his talented concrete finishing work, peacefully answered the Masters call and transitioned into eternity February 5, 2021, in Opelika, Alabama.
Celebration of Life Services and Interment will be held Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 11:00 am from the Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church (parking lot).
With the support of Pastor Arnather Baxter of the Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church, the eulogy will be delivered by Pastor Steven Monday of the High Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.
Public visitation will be held Saturday, February, 13, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
All services and visitations will be conducted exercising prescribed social distancing protocols.
Jack P. Fields Sr. was born in Bullock County, Alabama on February 4, 1945, to the late Josie Fields and James Carter. He confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of the Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church, where he fulfilled his duty on the Deacon Board.
Deacon Fields was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Johnson Fields and his son Terry Bernard Fields.
Jack was a well-rounded person with a humble spirit. He was known for his proficient work as Jack Fields Construction Company He will always be remembered for, his talented concrete work, his green eyes and the love he showed for others. Jack enjoyed fishing, cooking, and taking care of his family, especially his grandkids.
Left to cherish fond memories are his children: Sons: Jack (Salina) Fields Jr., Ronnie (Rochelle) Fields, Ronald Fields, and Dana (Fran) Stinson. Daughters: Shelia (Antony) Fields Pritchett, Gwendolyn Fields, and Natasha Jackson
Four Brothers: Charles (Ethel) Weaver of Montgomery, Alabama. James (Rhonda) Fields, Lorenzo (Wanda) Dates, and Darryl (Danyel) Dates, all of Birmingham, Alabama.
Three Sisters: Carrie Ann Fields, Columbus, Georgia, Annie (Edward) Tate, and Terri (Chris) Maull all of Birmingham, AL
Aunt: Mary McDaniel, all of Birmingham, Alabama.
Thirty grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren a host of nieces and nephews. Including a devoted niece Shirley (BooBoo) Reynolds.
