Carter Funeral Home respectfully announces the transition of Mrs. Gloria Jean Johnson Parham, 60, of Midway, Alabama on October 19, 2018.
Services celebrating her earthly Life will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the sanctuary of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
The pastor, Rev. Bruce Burks will deliver the message of comfort and strength.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery.
Mrs. Parham will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.
Public visitation will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
Gloria Jean Johnson Parham was born on August 27, 1958 to the late Rochelle Johnson Minion and the late Fe Otis Johnson in Haines City Florida. Quietly on Friday, October 19, 2018 she entered into Heaven’s gates.
She confessed Christ and joined the Oak Grove Baptist Church at an early age.
On July 12, 1980, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to her Husband George Parham Jr., who he called his “Partna” for 38 years.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her first born son, Marvin Johnson; sister, Ethel Mae Streeter; brother Jessie Johnson Sr. and one brother in law Charlie Parham Sr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her devoted husband George; one son Oronde Johnson, Phenix City, AL; three daughters: Derinda (Eric) Johnson, Union Springs, AL, Kawanna (Ronald) Tarver, Midway, AL; and Patrice (Monrell) Parham, Midway, AL; three step children: Devorice Milbry, Auburn, AL; Ashley Mangum, Tacoma, WA; and Ka’Deria Parham, Cuthbert, GA two sisters Sally Larkins Midway, AL, Mary Bush-Ivory, Atlanta, GA; one brother Eddie Streeter Sr, Midway, AL; four sister in laws, Gloria Cory, Sally Parham, both of Midway, AL, Georgia Mae Rogers, Union Springs, AL, Lola (Larry) Pye, Miami, FL, and Charlie (McKinley) Menifee, Tuskegee, AL; Four Aunts Jeanette Stewart, Plant City FL, Betty (Hardy) Wilborn, Midway, AL, Virginia Clark, Akron, OH, Jan Fason, Rochester, NY; One Uncle JC Clark, Rochester, NY; Ten grandchildren that she loved and adored more than anything: De’Monte, Ja’Brittany, Darquavious, Angel, Darcaija, Raekwon, Keiwon, DeMarkiss, De’Myah, and Eric Jr; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
