With humble respect, the Staff of Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Ms. Gladys Pugh Lampley, 82, of Midway, Alabama.
Ms. Lampley, born January 21, 1937 transitioned peacefully into eternity Monday, March 4, 2019.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 12 noon from the Bullock Career Technical Center of Union Springs.
The message of comfort and strength will be delivered by the Rev. Bruce Burks, pastor of the Mt. Azure , Oak Grove, and Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Churches.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Azure Baptist Cemetery, Three Notch Community.
Ms. Lampley will lie in repose one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.
Public visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
Sister Gladys Pugh Lampley was born January 21, 1937 to the late Marion and Emma Sellers Pugh. She joined the Mt. Azure Baptist Church at an early age and remained faithful until her health declined. She departed this earthly life on March 4, 2019 at Jackson Hospital, Montgomery, Alabama.
Sis. Lampley was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Patricia; one son, Joel; seven sisters; and three brothers.
She leaves to cherish her memories four loving devoted sons: Howard (Jackie), Bruce (Margaret), Gary (Jessie) and Morris; one sister, Doris (Curtis) Streeter; fifteen grandchildren, twentysix great-grandchildren; special daughters: Sharon Simpson, Faye Pipkin, and Minister Pearl Turner; a special devoted niece, Loretta Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including her special friends, Patricia Young, Martha Jones, Bobby Lampley, Ida Hurt, Minister Lela Pugh and Buck Rodgers.

She baked some of the best caramel and pound cakes I"ve ever eaten.She kept me laughing, she always had a joke to share, even when she wasn't feeling her best. May you find comfort in knowing that she is now resting well.
