Loving Sister's
Aunties Red Velvet cake Auntie Red Velvet cake wasn't just a dessert it was a tradition, an event, a symbol of comfort and love all wrapped in frosting. Every time there was a family gathering or special occasion , Auntie would be in the kitchen, humming,to herself ,preparing her famous cake. She had this secret recipe, one she swore she'd never share, but every time she baked it,she made sure to give us all a taste of her magic. What made her red velvet cake so special wasn't just the deep, rich color or the velvety texture it was the way it made everyone feel. The layers were always perfectly moist,an the cream cheese frosting was just the right balance of sweet and tangy. But what I remember most vividly was the way Auntie would cut the first slice, her hands steady but with that little twinkle in her eyes, like she was giving you a piece of her heart. An the best part The ritual of it.no one was allowed to touch the cake until Auntie had give her first slice, an we all waited, watching her cut each piece care with care, making sure every bite was perfect.it wasn't just about the cake it was about the way it brought everyone together, the way the room would quiet when the cake was placed on the table, an how we'd all sit around sharing stories and laughter ,all of us with a slice of her love in our hands.Even now, whenever I taste red velvet cake,I can almost hear her voice saying " it's not just about the cake- it's about the people you share it with". And I'll always carry that lesson with me ,along with the memory of her warm kitchen, her beaming smile, and that unmistakable taste of home.
Dearest Sister, We know you're with us still, but, one more chance to hear you say hello, when called would mean the world, to us!
We will miss the chats over the phone as well as your smile, but most of all, we will miss your laughter....
Ethel, If the universe sets out to create a song, your laughter would be the verse and chorus.
Our time together was too short.
My purpose of this note is to say how much we enjoyed being your sister and you'll be missed with a profound depth, no soul could have possibly imagined.
Though you're no longer physically here, your spirit walks with us still. There is peace in knowing you're watching over us and we'll hold you in our hearts forever.
You were a rare gem, a shining light in a world darkened by the daily burdens and sickness we all carry.
You are and will be forever Loved!
Farewell, Sister, Farewell.
Another Loss of a Sibling! 🙏🏾
