With humble respect, Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mr. Darnell Jackson,79, of Union Springs,Alabama.
Born September 2, 1937, Mr.Jackson transitioned into eternity, Wednesday, June 28,2017 at his residence.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Wednesday July 5,2017 at 1:00 pm from the sanctuary of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Union Springs.
The pastor, Rev. Gary Lewis will deliver words of comfort.
Interment will follow in Mason Cemetery.
Mr. Jackson will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.
Visitation for family and friends will,be Tuesday,July 4,2017 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
Darnell was born in Union Springs, AL. to Benjamin and Rubye Lee Jackson on September 2, 1937. He attended Carver High School and went on to Tuskegee Institute to earn a BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
Darnell is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Rubye Lee Jackson.
Darnell is survived by his wife, Martha Jackson of Union Springs; four children, Anthony Darnell Jackson, Karla Jackson-Dowdell (Marcus), Rahman Mason, and Tracy Mason all of Union Springs; two brothers-in-law, Hubert Rodgers and Ray Rodgers both of Florida; one sister-in-law, Linda Grooms, of Union Springs; six grandchildren, Kylen Darnell Grace, Kala Jackson, Anthony Jackson, Khristen Jackson, Morgan Mason, Teshne’ Moultrie and four great-grand children all of Union Springs, Alabama along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thanks to his cousins Sylvia “Gwen” Franklin, Raymond Hall and Paul Jackson.
