Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mr. C.W. Rumph, 88, of Clayton, Alabama on March 2, 2020 in Eufaula, Alabama.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 11:00 am from the sanctuary of the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Clayton.
The message of comfort will be rendered by Pastor Joe N. Grey, Sr.
Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Baptist Cemetery.
Mr. Rumph will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.
Public visitation will be held Tuesday. March 10, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
Mr. C.W. Rumph was born March 23, 1933 to the late Mr. Jodie and Hattie Rumph in Barbour County Al. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mrs. Charline Rumph. Mr. Rumph was a devoted member and Deacon of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Clayton Alabama. On March 2, 2020, Mr. Rumph departed his earthly life, after an extended illness at Crowne Health Care in Eufaula, Al.
He was preceded in death by one son, Theodore Rumph and two daughters; Lora Ann Rumph and Tracey Michelle Rumph.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories; Seven daughters: Hattie Rumph of Asheville, North Carolina, Doretha Walker (Darwin Edwards) of Haines City Florida, Brenda Rumph of Rochester, New York, Sherry Rumph of Clayton, Alabama, Terry Rumph of Rochester, New York, Janice (Eddie) Jett of Clayton, Alabama, Agnes (Derrick) Taylor of Eufaula, Alabama. Two sons; Willie (Bonnie) Rumph of Rochester, New York, Jimmy (Lizz) Rumph of Eufaula, Alabama. One sister, Mamie Key of Lawton, Oklahoma and one brother, JW Rumph of Buffalo, New York. Nineteen grandchildren, a host of greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. The Staff of Carter Funeral Home is honored to support the Rumph family with End of Life Services.
