Writing this I'm filled with so many emotions. Questions and feelings of confusion but I know the Lord doesn't make any mistakes. When we met over our shared passion for percussion and love for ASU you had the most calm spirit Id known from all the other percussionists coming through that year. Even in the midst of battle you stayed stoic and poised as a musician all while playing with aggressive precision. It was those characteristics I admired about you deeply. I'd be hype yelling and turning up, you'd be calm and still turning up lol. When you became a staff member of our MMH I knew our section would be in good hands with you and soon the band would be in your hands as well. You were an amazing father, husband and family man that took pride in being the super hero to many. You will truly be missed and our broTTherhood will not be the same without you. We love you bruhs and will forever keep your name alive in our bond! TT!!!! B!!!!!!!! #LLToosie UTRISLAD
Everything seems surreal and confusing. You mean so much to so many people. As smart as I like to think I am I just can't make sense of this, maybe it'll take a lifetime. Just know that we love, miss and adore you bro. We're so proud to be connected to you! Later ❤️

May God Wrap His Arms Around Charles Franklin Russell Goodwin III in Heaven. Prayers To The Goodwin Family. Amen!
As a mother of seven, I was kinda iffy about my son Brandon going to school out of state. Well, he was adamant about going to Alabama State. I came to see him perform and Mr. Goodwin was the first staff member I met. After meeting him I knew Brandon was in good hands. I told him I'm glad you chose this school and didn't take my choice. I'm glad I got the honor to cross paths with Mr.Goodwin. He gave me my MMH VIP 😂🤣😂. Always treated you with respect. He was quiet but, courteous and kind. He touched many lives. His legacy will reign forever. Sending condolences from Georgia 🙏🏽. ASU stands for now you will be Arranging our Sounds Up in heaven.
I was heartbroken to hear of your loss, and I want you to know how deeply sorry I am. To the family, please accept my most sincere condolences during this incredibly difficult time. Though no words can truly ease the pain, I hope you find comfort in the memories that will forever live in your heart. The kind of person Charles is —his warmth, his laughter, his strength—left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know him. That kind of presence doesn't fade with time; it stays with us, showing up in quiet moments, in stories shared, and in the way we carry forward the love he gave to the ASU Band Family. Please know you are not alone in this. His marching hornet family is here—whether you need support, a quiet space to grieve or a listening ear. May God Bless you with peace. Markitha
We send our condolences to his entire family on behalf of Charles's classmates, Bullock County High School Class of 2004. Charles was a sweet, humorous spirit, and his light shone through and through. He will always be remembered as one of the best drummers through BCHS. He is loved and will be missed amongst all the hearts he touched.
We are offering sincere and heartfelt sympathy to our classmate Peggy Goodwin and her entire family. We pray that God will remain close to you all during this very difficult time. EARTH HAS NO SORROW THAT HEAVEN CANNOT HEAL

Mr.Goodwin was my daughter music teacher and adored him as her teacher. He will be greatly missed and praying for his family.
I crabbed the ASU band in 2002 and met Charles in 2004. He was a good person with a great heart never met a stranger. He had sooo many talents and gifts plus he loved his Alma Mata and his passion for us Might Marching Hornets. He was loved by everyone he came in contact with. This band season we will be so lost without you but I know you is with God & you will be with us in spirit. RIH my friend from band world to Greek world. We got you on the 50. #MMH4Life #MyASU 🖤💛🖤
