Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mr. Billy Lee Calloway, a native of Union Springs, AL.
While surrounded by his devoted family, Mr. Calloway, .65, peacefully transitioned into eternity June 10, 2021 at his residence in Virginia Beach, VA.
Friends and associates in Virginia will share their support with the family during a public visitation, Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the Chapel of Beach Funeral and Cremation Services.
The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
The Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the parking lot of the St. James CME Church, Midway, AL.
Military Honors will be rendered at Graveside in the Sandtown Cemetery
Attendees for all visitations and services are requested to wear appropriate facial coverings and practice social distancing guidelines.
Billy Lee Calloway 65, of Virginia Beach, Virginia peacefully entered into eternal rest with his wife by his side on June 10, 2021. He was born on January 17, 1956 to the late Charlie and Willie Calloway in Midway, Alabama.
Billy was a 1974 graduate of Bullock County High School. Soon after graduation, he joined the United States Navy. While serving our country he held the rank of the 2nd class storekeeper and after 8 years of service he was medically discharged.
Billy loved the Lord and was a member of St. James CME Church for many years in Midway, Alabama. His hobbies included watching sports, westerns, and crime shows. A proud Dallas Cowboy fan, he also bleed crimson for the University of Alabama. Billy was also a social butterfly, as to make sure to keep in touch with friends and family all over the United States.
Billy was predeceased by his father, Charlie Calloway, Jr.; mother, Willie F. Calloway; sibling, Irvin Calloway.
Billy leaves to continue his legacy his loving wife, Cynthia F. Calloway; children, Tai L. Calloway, Theodore Butler; grandchildren, Joseph Bailey, Daveed Butler, Diamond Butler, Jasmine Foreman, Jakresha Foreman; great grandchildren, Kyrie Foster, NaโZir Wilson, Jaโsaiah Wilson, Knova VanWroten; siblings, Daisy Davis, Anne Calloway, Diane Johnson, Deborah Jackson, Kenny Calloway and Greta Calloway.
