Carter Funeral Home humbly announces the transition of Mrs. Audrey L. Thomas, 77, of Ariton, Alabama on March 20, 2020.
Mrs. Thomas peacefully transitioned at her home while surrounded by her loving family.
Celebration of Life Services and interment will be held Saturday, March 28, 2020, at 2:00 pm from the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Cemetery of Blue Springs, Alabama.
The eulogy will be delivered by Pastor W.C. Burks of the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs.Thomas will lie in repose at the Church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.
Public visitation exercising prescribed social distancing protocols will be held Friday, March 27, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
AUDREY LEE THOMAS was born the 3rd of 11 children on March 4, 1943 in Clayton, Alabama to the late Lizzie Mitchell and Rubin Lias. Audrey transitioned peacefully on March 20, 2020. Audrey was educated in Barbour County Training School. She was a faithful member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she served as an Usher and the Benevolence Fund Treasurer. She was a very active mother, grandmother, and an excellent cake baker.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Thomas and her brother, Charlie Streeter.
Those left to cherish Audrey’s fond memories are her daughters: Albertha (Jerry) Rumph, Banks, AL, Robertha (Willie) Coleman, Banks, AL, Carolyn Thomas, and Judy Thomas, Clio, AL; sisters: Annie Lee Streeter, Williamson, NY, Betty Streeter, Brundidge, AL, Lela (Roy) McClendon, Freeport, NY, Shirley Alexander, Troy, AL, Sarah (Rasheed) Streeter, New Castle, DE, Ruby Streeter, Hagerstown, MD, Gloria (Liheame) Johnson, Central Islip, NY, Patricia (Leerone) Benjamin, Tampa, FL; brothers: Charles (Mamie) Mitchell, Eufaula, AL, Thomas (Althea) Mitchell, Reading, PA, Julius Edward (Nannie Morgan) Lias, Covington, GA, John (Grace) Lias, Apopka, FL; 11 grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; nieces, nephews, a host of relatives and friends whom she loved unconditionally.

Sitting here thinking about all the memories you and mom left me with. Laughing all night eaten fish and talking about the old times. If anyone ever had a true friend that were you guys, Y'all were there for each other for a long time. I can't believe you guys were just a week apart from departing this world. All I can see is y'all smiling and laughing with each other I love you Mrs Aubrey. Until we meet again.
