Carter Funeral home humbly announces the transition of Mr. Arthur Lee King of Union Springs, Alabama. A resident of Union Springs, Alabama, Mr. King, 63 transitioned into eternity on October 31,2020.
Celebration of Life services and Interment will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 11:00 am from the Wesley Garden Cemetery in the Cornerstone Community. The message of comfort will be delivered by Pastor Bruce Surratt of the Cornerstone AME Zion Church.
Public visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home of Union Springs, Alabama.
All services and visitations will be conducted exercising prescribed social distancing protocols. Facial coverings for all attendees are mandated per an executive order by the Governor of the State of Alabama.
Arthur Lee King (Bull) completed his earthly journey on Saturday, October 31,2020 with his daughters at his side. Arthur was born on April 30, 1957 to the late James Wesley Penn Sr and Juanita King Penn of Union Springs, Alabama. He was the first child of 13 siblings.
Arthur was a retiree of Bonnie Plant Farms of Union Springs, Alabama. He was a hardworking man who often put the needs of others before his. To have known him would have been to love him. At an early age, he confessed Christ and joined the Cornerstone A.M. E. Zion Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Wesley Penn Sr, his grandfather, James Henderson Penn, his grandmother, Ola Mae Burch, who reared him as her own, grandmothers. Jeffanna Penn and Eva Lou Penn.
Arthur leaves to cherish his memory, two beautiful daughters Annese King, Union Springs, AL and Qwenshana King, Clarksville, TN; his loving mother, Juanita King Penn, Union Springs, AL; one granddaughter, Madison King; his special friend and mother of his children, Willie Jean Cunningham, Union Springs, AL; his stepchildren: Felicia (Rodney) Allen, Jawanna Cunningham, Lashonda (Anthony) Washington, Contorious Cunningham, Marquetta (Wilfrid) Cunningham-Antoine, his siblings: Charles (Irene) Penn, Union Springs, AL; Mary (Cecil) Turpin, Hurtsboro, AL; James (Diana) Penn, Jr., Union Springs, AL; Dianne (Calvin) Pritchett, Union Springs, AL; Linda Penn-Williams, Montgomery, AL; Melvin Penn, Union Springs, AL; Rev. Dr. Gloria Penn Taylor, Montgomery, AL; Michael Penn, Madison, AL; Melissa Penn and Michelle Penn, Montgomery, AL; Gregory Penn, Atlanta, GA; and Jennifer (Willie) Tolliver, Union Springs, AL; Willie Frank (Kathy) Vann, Union Springs, AL; 13 step grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends including his longtime friends, Ronald Goshay, John Thorpe and Elijah Outsey.
