Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mrs. Angie Lee Browne formerly of the Newtown Community, Union Springs, Alabama.
Mrs. Browne, 88, peacefully transitioned into eternity September 17, 2021, in Augusta, GA.
The Commemoration of life will begin with a public visitation, Friday, October 1, 2021, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
The Farewell Celebration at Graveside will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 11:00 am from the Town Creek Missionary Baptist Cemetery Pastor Tommy Cooper, Sr of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church will deliver the message of comfort and strength.

All visitations and services will be conducted exercising prescribed social distancing protocols and all attendees are encouraged to utilize appropriate facial coverings.
On Friday, September 17, 2021, Mrs. Angie Lee Browne, “Poem Lady”, entered eternal rest in Augusta, GA. Mrs. Angie Browne was born on September 10, 1933, in Union Springs, AL, to the late Ms. Lizzie Parker.
Mrs. Browne accepted Christ at an early age and later joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Union Springs, AL. She served faithfully until her retirement and moved to Georgia to live with her daughter.
Mrs. Browne attended the public schools of Bullock County, Alabama, where she received her formal education. Mrs. Browne was instrumental in the Bullock County School District by serving on several committees in the ’70s and working as a Teacher’s Aide for the Bullock County School System; she devoted her time to many religious activities from the surrounding church congregations.
Mrs. Browne was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Earl L. Browne Sr. To this union; two children were born.
She leaves to cherish her precious and wonderful memories her two loving children: a daughter, Beverly A. McLean, Hephzibah, GA, and a son, Earl L. Browne, Jr., Pittsburg, CA; five grandchildren, Kalelia Gipson, Lacey, WA; Terrelle (Erica) Thomas, Holloman AFB, NM; Kaian Browne, Abrielle Browne, and Bakari Browne, Ithaca, NY; four great-grandchildren, Keashawn Rudolph and Darrell Gipson Jr., of Lacey, WA; Elizabeth and Elysia Thomas of Holloman AFB, NM; and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends
