“Where Service Becomes an Everlasting Memory”
With full hearts and many cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Ms. Clemmie Terry Jones, who peacefully went home to be with the Lord on June 21, 2026, at the age of 103. Born on February 15, 1923, in Roanoke, Alabama, Clemmie was the beloved daughter of the late Jessie and Precious Terry. She was one of eleven children and was blessed with a lifetime filled with family, strength, and love.
At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and became a member of Friendship Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Ebenezer Baptist, Lanett, Alabama. Her faith guided her throughout her life and showed in the love, kindness, and care she gave to others.
Ms. Jones was a woman of grace, strength, and kindness. She carried herself with dignity and class, and everyone who knew her admired and respected her. Lovingly called “Mama,” “Granny,” and “Grandma,” she was the heart of her family and a source of wisdom, comfort, and encouragement for generations.
She was married to the late Eddie B. Jones, and together they built a loving family and shared many wonderful years. Their union was blessed with seven children and a beautiful legacy that grew to include thirty-three grandchildren, eighty great-grandchildren, and fifty-one great-great-grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her, and she spent her life loving, encouraging, and caring for each generation.
Ms. Jones loved flowers and enjoyed their beauty and simplicity. She also loved cooking and preparing meals for family and friends. Her kitchen was always a place of love, laughter, and fellowship, where so many special memories were made around her table.
Over her 103 years, Clemmie saw the world change in many ways, but she remained a steady source of strength and support. She taught by example the value of perseverance, humility, compassion, and unconditional love. Her life showed the importance of family, hard work, and caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie B. Jones; her parents, Jessie and Precious Terry; two sons, Bueman Jones, Sr. and Terry Jones, Sr.; six brothers, J.C., Eddie B., Charles B., Olden, Johnny, and Lenart Terry; and four sisters, Evie Lee Tigner, Odell Smoot, Lorraine Pearson, and Rose Pitts.
Ms. Jones leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Josephine (Cecil) Ramsey and Gwendolyn Jones Carter, Lanett, Alabama; three sons, Luther (Gloria) Jones, LaGrange, Georgia, Eddie Arnold (Judy) Jones, Lanett, Alabama, and Roger (Ivy) Jones, Roswell, Georgia; one daughter-in-law, Marian Jones of Opelika, Alabama; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and special individuals, Janet Cook, Jane Cook(Bill) Oliver and Michelle(Peter) Crofton, whose lives were forever touched by her love and kindness.
Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we are thankful for the blessing of sharing in her amazing life. Her beautiful smile, gentle spirit, classy presence, loving heart, and strong devotion to family will always stay with us.
To her family, she was more than a mother and grandmother—she was our foundation, our inspiration, our comfort, and our heart. The love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the memories she created will continue to guide us for generations to come.
Ms. Clemmie Terry Jones will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered. Her legacy of love, grace, strength, and devotion to family will continue to shine through everyone who was blessed to know her.
