Cynthia Williams

Cynthia Williams “Puddin” was born on January 19, 1966 at John Andrews Hospital in Tuskegee, Alabama to Bernice Williams and the late Tommie Slaughter.

Cynthia was called home by God on Sunday, February 7, 2016. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 at Carter Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Ms. Williams will lie in repose at Union Oak Grove Baptist Church one hour prior to funeral services. A homegoing celebration will be held from the sanctuary of Union Oak Grove Baptist Churh, Hardaway, AL. Interment will follow immediately afterwards at Union Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

At an early age, Cynthia accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with Union Oak Grove Baptist Church. Everyone knew her as being very outspoken; and her favorite saying was “I ain’t never scared” and “I don’t back down”.

Cynthia leaves to cherish her precious memories: a loving mother, Bernice Williams, Union Springs, AL; two sons, James Edward Williams, Union Springs, AL and Marderrick Williams, Enon, AL; three brothers, Rickey (Lita) Williams, Carrolton, GA, Neal (Paula Sue) Williams, Hartford, CT and Brad Johnson, Fort Davis, AL; three sisters, Rena Williams, Union Springs, AL, Sara Ford, Fort Davis, AL and April Johnson, Tuskegee, AL; eight aunts, Janie Williams, Union Springs, AL, Juanita Williams, Tuskegee, AL, Vera Williams, Fort Davis, AL, Margarett (Benjamin) Gissendaner, Montgomery, AL, Minnie Williams, Annie Williams, both of Fort Davis, AL, Susie B. (Robert Lee) Calhoun, Atlanta, GA, Lucy (Charlie) Smith, Union Springs, AL and Olvia (Celo) Butts, Rochester, NY; six uncles, Edward (Alberta) Williams, Union Springs, AL, Ludie Williams, Boston, MA, Frank (Sharon) Slaughter, Jr., Eugene (Lois) Slaughter, Albert “JoAnn” Love, all of Tuskegee, AL and Curtis Love, Union Springs, AL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins including a special cousin, Kimberly Williams Jones; and friends including a very special friend, Robert Lee Washington (Boot) and other special friends, Shelia Harrey, Erma Harris and Alfornia Goshay.
