A soldier's final salute...Honoring the life of Deacon George Woodfaulk, 102 of Union Springs, Alabama.

On Monday, October 28, 2019, Bullock County's Oldest WW II Veteran peacefully transitioned into eternity at his residence on Woodfaulk Road.

Survived by his loving family and several friends, his earthly tenure will be celebrated with Homegoing Services Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 2:30 pm from the sanctuary of the First Missionary Baptist Church, Rev Gary Lewis, pastor.

The message of triumph will be delivered by Pastor Earl Finney of Higher Ground Ministries, Cincinnati, Ohio

Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Greater Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Woodfaulk will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.

Public visitation will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home

Mr. George Woodfaulk was born January 1, 1917 to the late Jessie and Novella Woodfaulk.

He gave his life to Christ at an early age, and became a member of the Greater Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he served for a number of years as chairman of the deacon board until his health begun to deteriorate. He was married to the late Mary Catherine for 75 years who preceded him in death. To this union eight children were born.

Mr. George (as affectionately referred to) was a dedicated loving husband, father and grandfather who leaves to mourn, two sons: George, Jr. (Sheaver) Woodfaulk, New York; and Courtney Woodfaulk, Alabama. Six daughters: Addie (late Gussie) Lloyd, New York; Bernice (O.D) Harris, Georgia; Novella (J.T), Alabama; Sonia Delbridge and Denva Hicks, Georgia and Carrie (Arnold) Harris, Georgia; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild and a host of close relatives and friends.
