Obituary For Donald R. Winston

Mr. Donald Rene Winston, 63 of West Point, GA passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange, GA. Mr. Winston, the son Mary Frances Malone and the late Charles Winston, was born February 2, 1956 in Langdale, AL.

Donald was a member of the Keeney Memorial United Methodist Church. He attended the West Point Public School and was a member of the 1974 graduating class of West Point High School. Donald spent his entire life loving his family and enjoying life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Oscar Malone; grandparents, Lelia Bell and Hubert Anderson and an aunt, Mary Alice White.

Donald was the proud father of five children: Takesha (Rick Brown) of Lilburn, GA , Avone Shealey of West Point, GA, Shalanda Wright of Opelika, AL, Donald(Carnesia) Winston of West Point, GA, Sakita Trammell of Ownings Mills, MD; three children that he reared as his own, Andrea Shealey, Dexter Shealey of West Point, GA and Tamara Griffin of Lanett, AL; eight grandchildren; his dear and devoted mother, Mary Frances Malone, West Point, GA; two sisters, Sandra Jackson of Conyers, GA; Deborah “Minnie” McLemore of West Point, GA; two god-brothers, Dan McClurkin of Hogansville, GA and Sammy Morgan of West Point, GA; one aunts , Doris (James Schell) of San Diego, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Winston will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., EST in the sanctuary of the Keeney Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brenda Pritchett-Rhodes, Pastor, Eulogist, Evangelist Stephanie Davenport and Sis. Michelle Winston, assisting.

Interment will follow in the Marseilles Cemetery.

The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. ,EST until the funeral hour.

The family is receiving friends at the residence of Mrs. Frances Malone, 1207 E. 8th Street, West Point, GA.

Public Viewing will be on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
