Obituary For Mrs. Dorothy Reed Dunbar

Dunbar, Mrs. Dorothy Reed, a resident of Valley, AL, died Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Lafayette Nursing Home, Lafayette, AL.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Frankie Hutchinson, Sr. officiating.

Interment will follow in Zion Rest Cemetery, Valley, AL. Davis Memorial Mortuary directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary.

Dorothy Reed Dunbar was born March 25, 1941 to the parentage of the late Rev. Albert W. and Lucinda Holloway Reed, Sr. in Chambers County, Alabama. She was the oldest of three born to this union.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Evergreen Baptist Church in the Blackbelt Community of the now Valley, Alabama under the Pastorate of the late Reverend N. H. Carr. She was educated in the Chambers County School System graduating from Lanier High School in Lanett, Alabama in 1958.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Albert W. Reed, Jr. On Wednesday, August 21, 2019, this loving and caring voice was silenced as she entered eternal rest.

She leaves to cherish her memories: four children, Keith Dunbar, Anthony Dunbar, Roland (April) Dunbar and Valerie (Walter) Jones; four grandchildren, Jordan Dunbar, Joshua Jones, Zachary Jones and Nicholes Jones; one brother, Charles Reed; one aunt, Lula Pearl Travwick; and, a host of nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services to be announced by Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley.
